Rules
ARTICLE I
SAINT-JOSEPH Football Club organise every years on Easter Saturday afternoon, Sunday and Monday an International Tournament for 18 years' old to which eight (8) teams from major French and foreign clubs are invited.
 
 
ARTICLE II

TROPHIES

a) The Tournament winner will receive The Municipal Trophy which may be kept by any team winning for three (3) consecutive years.
In addition to the trophy, the winning team will receive a commemorative cup which they may keep.
The tournament winner will defend the trophy the following year.
b) Numerous other cups will be awarded to teams.
 
 
ARTICLE III

The participating teams are allowed to take a maximum sized squad of eighteen (18) players, among whom two (2) may be goalkeepers.

Among the eighteen (18) players, teams may include three (3) players who are not registered with the participating clubs as long as these players satisfy the conditions relating to the age of junior players : - ie born after 1/1/1991.

Players will be required to show their permit/registration or if not available, an I.D card or passport. These documents will be checked by the referees and the jury one hour before the team's first game.

 
 
ARTICLE IV

Two mini-leagues of 4 teams are drawn from the 8 teams a few weeks before the tournament. The draw is then advised to the team managers together with the schedule of the games.
The tournament starts at 2.30 pm on Saturday and finishes on Monday around 6.45 pm.

 
 
ARTICLE V

Each team must have enough kits for five (5) games with a minimum of two (2) different colours. In case of clashing colours, a tournament official will draw out of a hat to decide which team will have to change colours.

 
 
ARTICLE VI

During a game three (3) players can be substituted chosen from the match sheet submitted before the game. Any player leaving the field is not allowed back on.

For safety reasons only four (4) team managers and/or physios will be allowed on the bench in addition to the substitutes included in the match sheet.

 
 
ARTICLE VII

Referees for the matches are appointed by the Loire District and the Rhône-Alpes League with the approval of the French Football Federation.

The Saint-Joseph International Tournament is governed by the laws of the game as set by the International Football Association Board and published by FIFA on 1st July 2006, except for the following addenda :

Addendum N°1

At the referee's discretion, a player may be temporarily sent off. This will be signified by use of a green card.
The player sent off is to remain off the field for a period of five (5) minutes in the immediate proximity of the 4th official between the two benches.
At the end of the five (5) minutes period, the 4th official will signal to the excluded player that the exclusion is over.

The player will then be permitted to rejoin the game on the half-way line, with the agreement of the referee and without waiting for a break in play.

However should the team whose player has been excluded wish to make a substitution at the end of the temporary exclusion, it will be imperative to wait for a suitable break in play.

If during the same game a player receives a 2nd temporary exclusion (2nd green card), this player will be sent off. The referee will show the player a red card.

Any player sent off will have to leave the field immediately and return to the changing rooms. This player may not be replaced and is not allowed to remain around the pitch.

Any player sent off other than temporarily (red card) will be banned for at least the following match.

 
 
ARTICLE VIII

The mini-league games are played on Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday

a) Duration of games is fifty (50) minutes (2 twenty-five (25) minute halves). There is a minute half-time break. There is no extra-time. no extra-time.
b) The time schedule must be adhered to and unless exceptional circumstances (such as a serious injury , weather). No delay to the start of the games will be tolerated.
c) In both mini-leagues, each team will play against the other 3 according to the fixed schedule of games, with one game being played per ½ day.
d) Three (3) points are awarded for a win, one (1) for a draw. The order in each mini-league will be decided according to the following criteria :


1) Number of points.
2) Goal difference. (Goal-Average).
3) Result of the game.
4) Number of goals scored.

e) Should any teams still be even, the order will be determined by penalty kicks in accordance with the procedure set by the international Football Association Board and published by FIFA. Five (5) penalty kicks will be taken by five (5) players. In case of an even score, penalty kicks will continue to be taken, using different players, until one of the teams is one goal ahead from the same number of penalty kicks.
Only players who were playing at full time will be allowed to take a penalty kick.

PLEASE NOTE :

Penalty kicks will be AUTOMATICALLY taken at the end of a drawn mini-league game so as to enable the teams to be ranked. The result of the penalty shoot-out will not affect the overall result of the drawn game.

 
 
ARTICLE IX

Monday morning

a) The 4th placed teams in each mini-league play for 7th and 8th places.
b) The winners of Group A and the 2nd placed team of Group B play the first semi-final.
c) The winners of Group B and the 2nd placed team of Group A play the second semi-final.

Monday afternoon

a) The 3rd placed teams in each mini-league play for the 5th and 6th places.
b) The losing semi-finalists play for the 3rd and 4th places.
c) The winners of the semi-finals play the Final.
d) The Final is played in two (2) thirty (30) minute halves. There is no extra-time.
e) In case of a draw the teams will take penalty kicks in accordance with the procedure set by the international Football Association Board and published by FIFA. The first series of five (5) must be taken by five (5) different players. In case of an even score, penalty kicks will continue to be taken, using different players, until one of the teams is one goal ahead from the same number of penalty kicks.
Only players who were playing at full-time will be allowed to take a penalty kick.
 
 
ARTICLE X
a) The organisers accept no responsibility for theft or accidents(*)(**).
b) Any dispute or issues not covered by these rules will be settled by the members of the Organising Committee. Their decisions are final. The committee reserves the right to punish, or exclude any player or manager guilty of serious unsporting behaviour.
 
 
ARTICLE XI
The present rules have been adopted by the SAINT-JOSEPH Tournament Organising Committee at the meeting of 30th September 2009 and take immediate effect.
 
 

* SAINT-JOSEPH Football Club cannot be held responsible for any costs incurred in repatriating an injured player other than with the rest of his visiting group, using the transport previously arranged. We would therefore advise teams to make the necessary provisions for such an event.

** Any extra costs incurred in medical tests or hospitalization are at your expense.
